六、内容简介：

A reliable power supply is essential for the growth of society and the economy. With climate change, extreme weather events are happening more often. At the same time, the output of renewable energy sources heavily depends on the weather. Because of this, we have to rethink the difficult conditions that our current systems are designed to handle and come up with new strategies. Building a resilient system is with the highest priority. This presentation will talk about the progress in creating and improving resilient operation plans for power systems against extreme weather events. It will provide a detailed exploration of how to maintain system resilience during severe weather events and ensure the continuity of power supply.

七、主讲人简介：

Dr. Yunhe Hou is currently an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the University of Hong Kong. He received a B.E degree in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 1999, and a PhD from the same University in 2005. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Tsinghua University from 2005 to 2007. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Iowa State University, Ames, USA, and a researcher at University College Dublin, Ireland, from 2008 to 2009. He was also a visiting scientist with Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA in 2010. He has been appointed as a Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China from 2017, and a Guest Professor of Electric Power Research Institute of China from 2018. He joined the faculty of the University of Hong Kong in 2009. Dr. Hou was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid from 2016 to 2021. Dr. Hou is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions Power Systems and Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy. He is the Chair of IEEE PES Task Forces on Power System Restoration with Renewable Energy Sources.
